Dr. Igor Kosacki

Biography
Igor Kosacki has completed his PhD from Institute of Physics Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland and postdoctoral studies from Pierre and Marie University, Paris France, Delft Technical University, Netherlands and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Igor is materials scientist working in academia and industry interface to bring together fundamental knowledge and application in energy technologies. He is most recently a professor at University of Houston-Downtown.
Prior to his work with university, Igor worked as Engineering Manager at Honeywell and Senior Scientist at Shell. Igor’s professional carrier is also related to academia. After receiving his PhD, he joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked as a Visiting Professor. Next, he was employed by Missouri University of Science and Technology as an Associate Professor and then at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Senior Scientist.
He is recognized nationally and internationally for his research contributions and achievements in materials science, nanotechnology, new energy technologies and product developments. With over 25 years of experience in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology, Igor is a scientist who works in both academic and industrial interfaces to bring together fundamental knowledge and application in energy and hydrocarbon production. Igor is a recognized leader in the design of advanced energy materials. His expertise in the fundamental properties of materials has enabled him to bridge the gap between academic investigation and industrial application. He has published more than 120 papers in reputed journals and is serving, since 2014 as Nanotechnology and Corrosion Symposium Chair at NACE Annual Corrosion Conferences.
